Abstract

 The purpose of this study is to improve PPKn learning in grade V elementary school students through group discussion methods on the material of Obligations, Rights and Responsibilities. This type of research uses Classroom Action Research, with the research subjects being 29 grade V students. The study was conducted for two cycles with each cycle consisting of one meeting. The results of the study indicate that the results of PPKn learning using the group discussion method in grade V elementary school students in the 2023/2024 academic year have increased by using affective, cognitive and affective aspects. The percentage of student understanding in the material of Obligations, Rights and Responsibilities before cycle I was carried out was 50% of the total number of students. After using the group discussion method in cycle I, the percentage results showed an average of 71.03% and a percentage of completion of 80.50%, while those who did not complete with a value of 50.00% were 9 students. Then it was improved again in cycle II still using the same group discussion method but there were improvements in learning that were different from cycle I. So that the increase was an average of 82.75% and a percentage of 84.44% while those who were not completed were 60.00%. This shows that the group discussion method is very effective for use in PPKn learning on the material of Obligations, Rights and Responsibilities.
